New Bern, North Carolina is the
birth place of Pepsi. In August 1898 a New Bern pharmacist (Caleb
Bradham) made the famous drink |

We ate at one of his two
pharmacy's he owned. It is now called Chelsea and had pretty good
food for the area. Dale accidently as requested Coke |

It is now a soda fountain place
and small museum. |

Some of the interesting facts
about Pepsi: The original formula called for 7,500 pounds of sugar.
The red, white blue logo came to be in 1941 for the support to
soldiers and war efforts. |

We then walked over to Tryon
Palace and enjoyed the summer foliage along the way. |

Tryon Palace was a must see
according to AAA Club tour book. The entrance was beautiful. For the
Royal Governor Williams Tryon |

The long driveway was covered by
tall trees and was very impressive. What the governor was trying to
establish for guest. |

The original building burned down
from a fire in 1798 and the Palace was reconstructed in 1950's from
the original plans. |

The Crest displayed in the front
